Research Hotspots and Evolutionary Trends in Cross-Strait Integrated Development: A Bibliometric Analysis of Scholarship from the Chinese Mainland

  • Objective/Meaning Cross-Strait integrated development is an indispensable path to achieve spiritual affinity between people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait and promote the complete reunification of the motherland. In this study, scientific analysis on the research logic of cross-Strait integrated development is conducted and accurate grasp of the research hotspots and evolutionary trends is achieved, aiming to provide theoretical support for promoting high-quality cross-Strait integrated development
Methods/Procedures Utilizing CiteSpace software, a visual analysis was conducted on 973 research articles concerning cross-Strait integrated development in China's mainland (from the CNKI database) over the past 30-plus years, exploring research hotspots and evolutionary trends in this field.
Results/Conclusions The study reveals that keywords such as "integrated development," "Fujian-Taiwan," "rural revitalization," and "industrial integration" constitute the core nodes in this domain, systematically unveiling research themes centered around key carriers, supporting systems, and innovative pathways. The burst detection analysis of keywords further highlights frontier hotspots, including "cross-Strait rural industrial integration," "cross-Strait youth cultural integration," and "strengthening the policy foundation for cross-Strait integrated development." Looking ahead, research should focus on deepening cross-Strait industrial integration, enhancing the appeal of Chinese culture to young people in Taiwan, and establishing a long-term mechanism for the in-depth integration of agriculture between Fujian and Taiwan, thereby providing solid support for the high-quality development of cross-Strait integration.
