The Practical Obstacles and Transformation Paths of Digital-Intelligent Transformation of Rural Handicraft IndustryA Case Study of the Bamboo Weaving Industry in Sanjiang County, Guangxi

  • Objective/Meaning Handicraft is an important root of rural cultural industry, carrying local knowledge and collective memory. Digital intelligence technology promotes the transformation of traditional industries from experience driven to wisdom driven, and injects new momentum into the revitalization of rural culture and the value-added transformation of cultural industries.
Methods/Procedures Taking the bamboo weaving industry in Sanjiang Dong Autonomous County of Guangxi as an example, combined with the county statistical data analysis, this paper reveals the real obstruction behind the "large resources and small industries" of bamboo industry in Sanjiang County.
Results/Conclusions The study pointed out that the obstructive factors were the difficulty in standardizing the translation of the physical experience of tacit knowledge, the substitution of the right to speak by external expert systems for local craftsmen, the double gap between digital skills and traditional skills between generations, and the incentive failure caused by the digital filing work divorced from industrial needs. The fundamental problem of digital intelligence transformation of rural handicraft industry lies in the absence of subjectivity of craftsmen, rather than technology. Based on this, this paper proposes five dimensions to design the transformation path of cultural and creative development, including the co construction of digital knowledge base and Dong cultural IP, digital intelligent transformation and flexible organization of production links, digital talent cultivation driven by digital intelligent workshops, collaborative symbiosis between bamboo weaving and digital intelligent of county products, new material integration and experience upgrading.
