Influencing Factors and Hierarchical Structure Decomposition of the Contradiction between the Willingness and Behavior of Apple Growers to Apply Organic Fertilizer: Based on the Logistic-ISM Model

  • Objective/Significance As one of the green production methods, organic fertilizer is very important to ecological environment protection and agricultural sustainable development.
Method/Process Based on the field survey of 1124 apple farmers in Gansu, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Henan and Shandong provinces in the Yellow River Basin, this paper used the binary Logistic ISM model to analyze the influencing factors of the disconnection between organic fertilizer application intention and behavior of apple farmers, and deeply discussed the correlation and hierarchical structure of each influencing factor.
Result/Conclusion The results were showed as follows. (1) Government effect, technology cognition, policy satisfaction, policy perception, policy subsidy, income expectation, yield expectation, economic expectation, education level and per capita income had significant influence on the intention and behavior deviation of organic fertilizer application of apple growers. (2) Technology cognition, policy perception and economic expectation are the surface direct factors, government effect, policy satisfaction, income expectation, output expectation and per capita monthly income are the middle indirect factors, and policy subsidies and education level are the deep root factors. (3) Apple farmers in the upper, middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River had a certain understanding of organic fertilizer, but showed a low application behavior on the whole. Publicity and online and offline knowledge popularization training should be strengthened to improve the cognition of apple farmers on organic fertilizer. Strengthen policy support to encourage apple growers to actively apply organic fertilizer; Differentiated policies were formulated for the upper, middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River to improve the income of apple farmers and reduce the economic burden, so as to promote the transformation of organic fertilizer application intention into actual behavior.
