Comparison on the Impacts of Intellectual Property Protection on Economic Growth in Both Sides of the Taiwan Straits

Based on the comparison of the situation of economic development and intellectual property protection(IPPR) between Taiwan and mainland, the impacts of IPPR on economic growth were measured by using CobbDouglas production function. The results found that the impacts of IPRP on the economic growth were small in Taiwan, while the impacts on that in mainland cannot pass the significance test. Therefore, this paper put forward the countermeasures on promoting economic growth by IPPR.
