Coordinative Relations between Foreign Trade and Employment in Fujian

Based on the analysis of foreign trade and employment status of Fujian Province, the study establishes a multiple regression model by using the data from 1996-2010 to test the relation between foreign trade and employment. The empirical analysis shows that Fujian’s general exports trade and exports processing trade can significantly stimulate employment growth, general imports trade and the materials and equipment imported as foreign investment have weak impact on employment growth, but the imports of processing trade will decrease employment growth.Finally, the paper offers some related suggestions to improve the relations of foreign trade and employment in Fujian.
