Problems and Countermeasures in the Economic Development of Fujian Taiwan Business Investment Zone under the Background of Cross Strait Integration Development Demonstration Zone Construction

Objective/Meaning As a pivotal platform for cross-strait economic cooperation, the Fujian Taiwan Investment Zone plays a leading role in the construction of the cross-strait integration development demonstration zone. Studying the existing problems and countermeasures in its development aimed to provide decision-making references for the high-quality development of the Fujian Taiwan Investment Zone and assist in the construction of the Fujian cross-strait integration development demonstration zone.

Methods/Procedures This article systematically reviewed the development process and achievements of the Fujian Taiwan Business Investment Zone, analyzed the main problems during its development, and proposes corresponding development countermeasures accordingly.

Results/Conclusions The existing problems in the development of the Fujian Taiwan Investment Zone included a relatively small economic scale and a low proportion of Taiwanese funded enterprises; Incomplete industrial chain and low industrial resilience; Traditional industries had a high proportion and weak innovation capabilities; Insufficient regional collaboration and lagging integration of industry and city; Strong policy dependence leads to weakened policy dividends. Finally, targeted development strategies are proposed, including expanding the economic scale and increasing investment attraction for Taiwan funded enterprises; Improve the industrial chain and enhance its resilience; Vigorously developing new quality productive forces and cultivating new driving forces for innovative development; Strengthen cooperation with surrounding regions and accelerate the integration of industry and city development; Develop a more precise policy system for the Fujian Taiwan Business Investment Zone.
