Objective/Meaning As one of the new agricultural business entities, the digital transformation of farmers’ cooperatives was related to the degree of agricultural digital development. However, the existing research on how to realize the digital transformation of farmers’ cooperatives was still insufficient. This study aimed to expand the process theory of digital transformation of farmers’ cooperatives and provide theoretical reference for relevant policy formulation and practice promotion.
Methods/Procedures Based on the theoretical framework of SACIP, the internal logic and driving mechanism of the digital transformation of farmers’ cooperatives were systematically analyzed by using the method of multi-case study.
Results/Conclusions The result showed that the digital transformation of farmers’ cooperatives presented a compound practical logic of spatial extension, subject driving, gradual selection and income orientation. The dependent conditions of digital transformation were, in order, cooperative leadership ability, policy support and market demand, while the practical dilemma was mainly manifested in insufficient funds, immature technology and lack of talents.
