Rural Ecological Revitalization in the Context of Common Prosperity: Fundamental Principles and Practical Approaches

Objective/Meaning Rural ecological revitalization is a critical task in building a strong agricultural nation in the new era, while common prosperity is the ultimate goal of agricultural and rural modernization. The two are deeply intertwined in terms of their key actors, underlying logic, and development objectives. Clarifying the mechanisms of their symbiosis will help achieve the simultaneous advancement of green development and prosperity, thereby providing a theoretical foundation for leveraging ecological development to advance common prosperity and accelerate agricultural and rural modernization.

Methods/Procedures Relying on literature review and theoretical analysis, this study reviews existing relevant research and dissects the intrinsic mechanisms of their coupling. Adhering to three principles—the unity of equitable development and ecological justice, the concurrent emphasis on farmer-centered approaches and the shaping of ecological values, and the integration of green technology with digital ecology—the study systematically explores implementation pathways across three dimensions: strengthening foundations, achieving synergistic advancement, and fostering co-governance and shared benefits.

Results/Conclusions The study indicates that common prosperity and rural ecological revitalization are highly compatible, forming a mutually reinforcing development pattern. Through practical pathways such as expanding rural green industrial clusters, strengthening consensus on the values of ecological civilization, building a community of ecological governance, and cultivating new productive forces in agriculture, it is possible to effectively drive high-quality ecological development in rural areas, enhance the quality and efficiency of rural revitalization, and achieve the coordinated advancement of ecological conservation and common prosperity.
