Can Digital Inclusive Finance Promote the Entrepreneurial Decision-making Among the Returning Migrant Workers?Empirical Analysis Based on the CLDS Data

  • Objective/Meaning The returning migrant workers are an important subject in achieving the rural revitalization. By exploring whether the digital inclusive finance could promote the entrepreneurial decision-making among the returning migrant workers, it would provide inspiration for effectively realizing the “stable employment” of key groups such as the returning migrant workers and promoting the rural informatization and rural revitalization strategies.
    Methods/Procedures The data of China Labor Force Dynamics Survey (CLDS) from 2012 to 2018 and the digital inclusive finance index were used to construct a panel data model. Then, the overall development level of digital inclusive finance and the impact of its three dimensions on the entrepreneurial decision-making of returning migrant workers were analyzed.
    Results/Conclusions The study found that: (1) the development of digital inclusive finance could increase the probability of migrant workers returning home to start businesses; (2) There was a positive relationship between the digital inclusive finance and the entrepreneurial decisions of the returning migrant workers with higher household incomes and the middle-aged and elderly returning migrant workers, and the digital inclusive finance could significantly promote the entrepreneurial decisions of the returning migrant workers in the central and eastern regions.
