Analysis on the Development Status and Countermeasures of Rural Industry in Xiamen

Objective/Meaning 
Industrial prosperity is the focal point and fundamental task of implementing the strategy of rural revitalization. By analyzing the current situation of industrial development in Xiamen, this paper explored the countermeasures to promote the prosperity of rural industry and realized the rural revitalization.

Methods/Procedures 
30 administrative villages in Tongan, Jimei, Xiangan and Haicang districts of Xiamen City were selected as samples for questionnaire survey.

Results/Conclusions 
At present, the main industry in most villages of Xiamen is still the primary industry. The scale of the secondary and tertiary industries is small, the proportion of industries is out of balance, and the economic structure is unreasonable. As a result, the income of villagers in Xiamen is still mainly from the primary industry, and the young and middle-aged labor migrate.The development of rural industry in Xiamen can be further promoted from the following aspects:developing modern agriculture and operating with the idea of industrialization, promoting the integration of three industries centering on pillar industries, establishing an education and training system benefiting all farmers and improving the organization degree of farmers, improving the system design and policy guarantee of capital going to the countryside, and building a rural e-commerce platform.
