Abstract: With the economic progress since China’s reform and opening-up, the farmers’ production has become scattered, which made the traditional household contract responsibility system hardly adapt to the development of modern rural economy, leading to a lot of problems and challenges in agricultural development. By taking Zhangpu County as an example, the overall development status of local farmer professional cooperatives was summarized based on the field investigation. Then, the existing problems and main influencing factors were analyzed. Last, the countermeasures for promoting the healthy development of local farmer professional cooperatives were put forward, thus to increase farmers’ income.
