Objective/Meaning  As a major characteristic industry of forestry in Fujian Province, the bamboo industry could provide new growth impetus for the development of green economy in Fujian under the background of the new era. By analyzing the development of bamboo industry in Jian’ou City of Nanping, it would provide reference for the economic development of composite bamboo forest in Fujian Province and the similar areas.

  Methods/Procedures  By exploring the transformation status of bamboo forest industry in Jian’ou City, and analyzing its promoting factors and restricting factors, the development of bamboo industry in Jian’ou of Nanping City was analyzed, in order to provide references for the economic development of composite bamboo forest in Fujian Province and the similar areas. Then, based on this, the countermeasures were put forward for the economic development of composite bamboo forest in the mountainous area of Fujian.

  Results/Conclusions  The results showed that Jian’ou, as a major bamboo producing county, had a long history of bamboo production and utilization, and has tapped its industrial potential through the scientific and technological innovation, financial cooperation and brand building. However, there were some problems such as the unreasonable ratio of operation cost, unembodied ecological value and lack of industrial chain. The countermeasures were put forward to promote the development of bamboo industry from four aspects of promoting the green transformation of bamboo industry, improving the radiation-driven force of bamboo industry, stimulating the transformation and upgrading of related industries, and guiding the sinking of excellent resources, so as to give full play to the advantages of mountain resources.
