Abstract:
Objective/Meaning As a core area in the mainland for undertaking the transfer of Taiwan's Phalaenopsis industry, Zhangpu County has formed a development pattern of in-depth integration of industries across the Taiwan Strait relying on the advantages of geographical proximity, blood ties, and cultural affinity between Fujian and Taiwan. The Phalaenopsis industry is one of the most representative competitive and characteristic industries in Zhangpu County, and its development process is essentially a practical sample of agricultural industry integration between Fujian and Taiwan. It plays a dual important role in promoting county-level agricultural modernization, rural revitalization, and deepening cross-strait economic integration. Results/Conclusions The analysis shows that the synergistic effect of Fujian-Taiwan cooperation in variety research and development, technology promotion, market expansion is remarkable. However, during the rapid development, the industry still faces common problems such as difficulties in concentrated and contiguous land development, aging production facilities, intensified industry competition, and imperfect supporting service system. It also has unique shortcomings such as unsound Fujian-Taiwan industrial integration mechanism, unsmooth factor flow, and insufficient collaborative innovation, which hinder the improvement of industrial efficiency and competitiveness. In response, this paper puts forward countermeasures and suggestions such as deepening the in-depth integration of Zhangpu-Taiwan industries, strengthening cross-strait collaborative technological empowerment, expanding diversified markets, and cultivating regional brands co-built by Fujian and Taiwan.
