Abstract:
Water Users Association (WUA) is considered as efficient irrigation organizations. However, many existing Water Users Associations can’t give full play to positive role in Chinese Mainland. The paper summarized the experiences of the typical water commissions in Taiwan and Zhejiang respectively. The model of organization and management, mode of operation, financial resources, management performance and practical experience of Water Users Association between Taiwan and Zhejiang were compared. And some policy suggestions to improve the farmer participatory management in Chinese Mainland were put forward.
