Abstract:
Objective/Meaning By exploring the impact of the internationalization of agricultural product standards on the diversification of agricultural enterprises’ export markets, the new advantages of China’s participation in the international competition were constructed from the standard level, and the reform of the domestic standard system was forced.
Methods/Procedures The data of China’s national standards for agricultural products from 2002 to 2014 were selected and then matched with the Chinese Industrial Enterprises Database and China Customs Trade Database, thus to empirically analyze the impact of the internationalization of agricultural product standards on the diversification of enterprises’ export markets.
Results/Conclusions The results indicated that the internationalization of China’s agricultural product standards has significantly promoted the diversification level of export market for enterprises, and had indirect impact by reducing the compliance cost of enterprises, improving the product specialization and promoting the market integration. Compared with the enterprises with medium scale, the internationalization of Chinese standards had a more stable promotion effect on the selection of export markets for the small-scale and large-scale enterprises.
