Abstract: The ancient dwellings have important historical value and economic value. However, there are many problems on the protection and utilization of the ancient dwellings in recent years. This paper summarized the studies about the ancient dwellings in China from the aspects including the situation and existing problems, the protection and utilization. Last, this paper proposed the research prospects.
