Abstract: This paper summarized the development status of cultural industry of the western Taiwan straits economic zone and proposed several development models for the cultural industry such as supporting individual entrepreneurship, creating a favorable external environment and organizing various cultural activities. In addition, some countermeasures were put forward for promoting the development of cultural industry of the western Taiwan straits economic zone, such as improving the cultural management system and operating mechanism, establishing an effective investment and financing mechanism, optimizing the talent development mechanisms and nurturing the cultural market.
