Objective/Significance Taiwan region has accumulated rich experience in exploring the construction, management and maintenance of rural public infrastructure. Summarizing and analyzing it can provide reference for the Chinese mainland to improve the level of rural infrastructure construction and its management and maintenance.

Method/Process Sort out the historical changes of the construction, management and maintenance of rural public infrastructure in Taiwan region and analyze the formation of its concept. Through summarizing the experiences, practices and deficiencies of the construction, management and maintenance of rural public infrastructure in Taiwan region, draw inspiration from it.

Results/Conclusion Taiwan region adopted different concepts and practices for the construction, management and maintenance of rural public infrastructure in different stages of economic development. The “Community Building” policy and the “Rural Regeneration Plan” implemented there have played a positive role in promoting the improvement and maintenance of rural infrastructure, but there are also certain deficiencies. Finally, drawing inspiration from it, countermeasures and suggestions are put forward, such as implementing the construction and management of rural infrastructure by classification with production as the top priority, making it essential to raise funds through a wide range of channels, and taking residents as the masters and putting people first.
