Abstract:
Purpose/Significance The integrated development of urban and rural areas is an important symbol of modernization and a necessary requirement for promoting farmers' income increase, narrowing the income gap, and achieving urban-rural balance. Focusing on the perspective of sustainable industrial development, this study examines the level of urban-rural integration in Fuzhou based on relevant data from the Fuzhou Statistical Yearbook and urban construction Statistical Yearbook. Exploring from the perspective of optimization strategies is of great value.
Method/Process Based on three dimensions of economic development integration, social life integration, and ecological civilization integration, 12 secondary indicators are set up to construct an evaluation index system for the level of urban-rural integration in Fuzhou. The entropy method is used to determine the weights of each indicator in the index system and measure the level of urban-rural integration in Fuzhou from 2012 to 2023.
Result/Conclusion The results show that the overall level of integration of urban and rural economic development in Fuzhou is on the rise, the level of integration of social life is fluctuating and increasing, and the level of integration of ecological civilization is fluctuating and increasing. While achieving results, there is still room for improvement in indicators such as the per capita consumption expenditure ratio of urban and rural residents, the transportation and communication consumption expenditure ratio of urban and rural residents, the healthcare consumption expenditure ratio of urban and rural residents, and the proportion of energy conservation and environmental protection in fiscal expenditure. Based on the above research results, policy recommendations are proposed to further enhance the level of urban-rural integration: strengthen the development of characteristic modern agriculture and promote the integration of urban and rural industries; optimize the balanced and efficient allocation of urban and rural resources, and promote the flow of factors; improve the rural public service system and enhance service levels; strengthen the promotion of ecological civilization policies and enhance the implementation and effectiveness of policy measures.
