Abstract:
Since the implementation of Western Development and the rapid economic development of the western regions, China’ s regional economic gap has emerged. In this study, the author analyzed the spatial and temporal evolution of the regional disparity during 1992-1999 and evaluated the effects of Western Development. It was put forward that the focus in a new round of Western Development was to address the economic gap in the area and in the mean time could not neglect the dominant position of regional gap.
