Abstract:
Objective/Meaning The urban and rural integration development is an important symbol of modernization and an inevitable requirement for promoting the income of farmers, narrowing the income gap and achieving the urban-rural balance. By focusing on the perspective of sustainable development of industry, and based on the relevant data from Fuzhou Statistical Yearbook and Urban Construction Statistical Yearbook, the level of urban-rural integration in Fuzhou was studied in this paper, in order to provide suggestions for enhancing the overall coordination of economy and society and improving the level of urban-rural integration in Fuzhou.
Methods/Procedures By focusing on the three dimensions of economic development integration, social life integration and ecological civilization integration, twelve secondary indicators were set up to construct the evaluation index system for the level of urban-rural integration in Fuzhou. The entropy method was used to determine the weight of each indicator in the index system and measure the level of urban-rural integration in Fuzhou from 2012 to 2023.
Results/Conclusions The results showed that the overall integration level of urban and rural economic development in Fuzhou showed an increasing tendency, the integration level of social life showed a fluctuating rise, and the integration level of ecological civilization showed the fluctuating growth. While achieving results, there was still room for improvement in the indicators such as the per capita consumption expenditure ratio of urban and rural residents, the transportation and communication consumption expenditure ratio of urban and rural residents, the healthcare consumption expenditure ratio of urban and rural residents, and the proportion of energy conservation and environmental protection in fiscal expenditure. On the basis of the above research results, the policy recommendations were put forward to further improve the level of urban-rural integration, including strengthening the development of characteristic modern agriculture to promote the integration of urban and rural industries; optimizing the balanced and efficient allocation of urban and rural resources to promote the flow of factors; improving the rural public service system to enhance the service levels; and strengthening the publicity of ecological civilization policies to enhance the implementation of policy measures.
