Abstract:
Objective/Meaning By comparatively analyzing the influencing factors of honey export between China and New Zealand, it aimed to put forward the countermeasures and suggestions for promoting the honey export in China.
Methods/Procedures The trade situations of honey export in China and New Zealand were described and compared. Then, the extended gravity trade model was used to analyze and compare the influencing factors of honey export in China and New Zealand.
Results/Conclusions In terms of the factors affecting the honey export of China, the GDP of China and its trading partners and the per capita consumption of honey in the trading partner countries played a positive role in Chinese honey export. The GDP of New Zealand and its trading partners, the volume of honey production in New Zealand, and whether or not a free trade agreement has been signed and come in force positively affected the honey export of New Zealand. The countermeasures were put forward including strengthening the brand construction of Chinese honey to enhance the bargaining power in the international markets, developing the modern beekeeping to improve the quality of honey, implementing the diversification of the export market and strengthening the free trade agreement.
