Objective/Meaning  In the process of rural urbanization, the continuous disappearance of cultural heritage has made the protection and development of cultural heritage imminent. As the key subject of cultural heritage protection, the government studied its behavior and challenges in the process of protection, in order to provide reference for the cultural heritage protection.

  Methods/Procedures  Through the methods of literature research, and analysis & summary, and by taking the protection of Yongtai Zhuangzhai as a case, the government behavior and challenges of Yongtai County in the protection process of Zhuangzhai were analyzed, and then the relevant countermeasures were put forward.

  Results/Conclusions  The government of Yongtai County has played a leading role in the process of protecting Yongtai Zhuangzhai, but at the same time, it was faced with many challenges, such as the absence of laws and regulations and the insufficient investment of funds. Therefore, it was necessary to optimize the protection of cultural heritage by improving the policy measures of cultural heritage protection and accelerating the team construction of cultural inheritance.
