Abstract:
Objective/Meaning The impact of employment quality on the willingness of migrant workers to settle down was empirically analyzed in this paper, in order to promote the process of urbanization of rural migrant workers and help the people-oriented new urbanization construction.
Methods/Procedures Based on the dynamic monitoring data of floating population in China (CMDS) in 2017, the binary Logit model was used to study the impact of employment quality on the settlement intention of migrant workers.
Results/Conclusions The results showed that: (1) The quality of employment would significantly improve the settlement intention of migrant workers; (2)Wage income, job stability and social security would increase the settlement intention of migrant workers, while working hours would reduce the settlement intention of migrant workers. (3) There were gender differences and intergenerational differences in the impact of employment quality on the settlement intention of migrant workers, and the impact on the settlement intention of the female migrant workers and the new generation of migrant workers was greater. Based on this, the countermeasures were put forward including promoting the public employment services, attaching importance to the construction of trade unions and other group organizations, improving the social security system, and targetedly implementing the policies.
