Abstract:
Objective/Meaning China is a major country for the global tea export. The proposal of the Belt and Road Initiative is very important to the global tea trade. Studying the tea trade between China and the major tea exporting countries along the Belt and Road Routes will help to improve the international competitiveness of Chinese tea.
Methods/Procedures Through
MS index,
TC index and
RCA index, the international competitiveness of tea between China and the major tea exporting countries along the Belt and Road Routes was comparatively analyzed, and the influencing factors were analyzed based on the Michael Porter Diamond Model.
Results/Conclusions The results showed that the international competitiveness of Chinese tea was relatively weak. Therefore, the countermeasures for promoting the export trade of Chinese tea were put forward including improving the quality of tea, enhancing the brand awareness, promoting the transformation of tea industry, and developing the cross-border e-commerce, etc.
