Abstract:
Objective/Meaning By studying the environmental behavior of residents in our country and its influencing factors from a regional perspective, the conclusions can provide reference for the government to formulate relevant environmental policies, thus to promote the sustainable ecological development.
Methods/Procedures Based on CGSS2013 data, the multivariate OLS regression analysis was conducted with stata16 software, and the influence of the urban-rural and regional factors on the environmental behavior of residents in China was investigated from the macroscopic level.
Results/Conclusions The results showed that:(1) There was a significant positive correlation between the urban-rural factors and the environmental behavior of residents, and the environmental behavior of urban residents was better than that of rural residents. (2) There was a significant correlation between the regional factors and the environmental behavior of residents, with the residents in the eastern region of China having the best environmental behavior, followed by the western region, and the central region being the worst. (3) The environmental behavior of residents was also affected by the individual demographic characteristics such as gender, education level, personal income, and political background. (4) The factors such as gender, age, and nationality had different effects on the environmental behavior of residents in in urban and rural areas. (5) The factors such as urban and rural areas, age, personal income, and nationality had different effects on the environmental behavior of residents in different regions.
