Abstract: 【Objective/Meaning】The paper probes into the typical model of tourism poverty alleviation in southern Jiangxi province and summarizes it’s successful experience in realizing the strategy of rural revitalization through the development of tourism for reference in other similar areas.【Methods/Procedures】Based on the in-depth interview data of several counties and cities in southern Jiangxi Province , the advantages and disadvantages of each mode and the applicable conditions were compared and analyzed.Then, based on this, the countermeasures were put forward for formulating the model of poverty alleviation through tourism.【Results/Conclusions】The results showed that the three typical modes of poverty alleviation through tourism in southern Jiangxi Province(the government-leading mode, the scenic spot-supporting mode and the scenic spot & village-integrated mode)have all achieved good results in the poverty alleviation through tourism.However, due to the differences in the driving force of tourism development, the role played by the government, the development mode, the industrial structure and the participation of the poor households in different modes, the effect of poverty alleviation was quite different in the aspects such as the speed of becoming effective, the involved aspects of becoming effective and the mode of action.It was suggested that when formulating the mode of poverty alleviation through tourism, the similar areas should scientifically plan the route according to the local conditions, keep up with the market demand through maintaining the continuous innovation, stimulate the enthusiasm of villagers through industrial integration, enhance the internal impetus through strengthening the connection with enterprises, etc.
