Abstract:
【Objective/Meaning】Replacing chemical fertilizer with organic fertilizer is the only way to realize the green development of agriculture.Starting from the fertilization behavior under the economic behavior characteristics of tea farmers, exploring the action mechanism that affects tea farmers’ behavior of organic fertilizer application is conducive to improving the acceptance of the application of organic fertilizer by tea farmers and accelerating the promotion of organic fertilizer, and also has certain practical significance to solve the quality of tea and the quality & safety problems of tea industry.【Methods/Procedures】Based on the survey data of 405 tea growers in Fujian Province in 2019, the study used binary regression model to analyze the factors affecting tea farmers’ behavior of organic fertilizer application from the aspects of community governance and farmer cognition.【Results/Conclusions】The results showed that: in terms of community governance, the participation in tea cooperatives had a significant positive effect on tea farmers’ behavior of organic fertilizer application; In terms of cognition, the titer ratio of organic fertilizer application had a significant positive effect on tea farmers’ behavior of organic fertilizer application.Among the control variables, the gender of head of a household, the status of party members, the proportion of tea income and the soil fertility of tea garden had significant positive effects on tea farmers’ behavior of organic fertilizer application.Based on this, some policy suggestions were put forward, including constructing a total quality management mechanism, implementing targeted training, and increasing the investment in rural education, so as to realize the sustainable development of tea planting industry and promote the process of agricultural modernization.
