Abstract: 【Objective/Meaning】The agricultural cooperation once was the pioneering task of economic and trade cooperation between Hainan and Taiwan. Under the background of the complex and severe cross-strait relations and the construction of the free trade port in Hainan. Reviewing the course of agricultural cooperation research and analyzing the hot spots would be helpful to correctly understand and cope with the opportunities and challenges of agricultural cooperation between Hainan and Taiwan under the new situation. 【Methods/Procedures】By using the literature research method, and based on the bibliometric analysis and topic clustering on the CNKI database, a comprehensive review on the research history, hot topics and trends of the agricultural cooperation between Hainan and Taiwan was conducted.【Results/Conclusions】The research on the agricultural cooperation between Hainan and Taiwan was closely related to practice and has gone through three stages, namely, Japanese colonial expansion, the independent practical research and the innovative development research. And the agricultural comparison and prospect analysis between Hainan and Taiwan, the tourism and leisure agriculture, Taiwanese agricultural investment in Hainan, and the agglomeration of agricultural enterprises invested by Taiwanese were the four hot topics. In the future, based on the current situation of agricultural cooperation between Hainan and Taiwan, focusing on the new situation of the construction of free trade port in Hainan, and comparing with the practice and research progress at home and abroad, we should adhere to the development ideals of attaching equal importance to the theoretical research and applied research, combining the qualitative research and quantitative research, and promoting simultaneously the interdisciplinary research and cross-regional research.
