Abstract: 【Objective/Meaning】Under the influence of the schweineseuche in Africa,there was a serious shortage of supply in the live pig industry chain in the Chinese mainland,which led to the phenomenon of soaring pork prices.In the face of schweineseuche,and natural disasters like typhoons,earthquakes and so on,Taiwan was still able to ensure the self-sufficiency rate of pork product on the island and stable market prices.So,learning from the development experience of live pig industry in Taiwan was conducive to the safe development of the whole industry chain of live pig in the Chinese mainland.【Methods/Procedures】By means of literature research,the good development status of the live pig industry in Taiwan was reviewed,and the policy evolution of the live pig industry in Taiwan was analyzed,thus to summarize the experience for reference.【Results/Conclusions】Based on the five aspects for the safety development of the whole industry chain of live pig including selection,reproduction,cultivation,slaughtering and processing,handling of pigs died from disease,sales,circulation and consumption,it was suggested that the Chinese mainland could learn from the experience and enlightenment of the development of live pig industry in Taiwan.
