Abstract: Objective/Meaning This paper studied how to play the role of urban green space in the construction of "sponge city" in the process of urban planning.Methods/Procedures Taking Fuzhou as an example, based on the concept of "Sponge City", combined with urban environmental problems and urban planning theory, this paper analyzed the role of urban green space in the process of sponge city construction from three aspects:geohydrological characteristics, topographic characteristics and urban green space layout.Results/Conclusions In the process of sponge city construction, we should give full play to the role of existing urban green space, integrate urban water regime and topography, utilize the capacity of intercepting and storing water of green space, share the drainage pressure of urban waterlogging, solve the hidden danger of urban flood disaster and optimize urban water environment.
