Abstract: 【Objective/Meaning】The rural revitalization strategy is a major strategic decision and arrangement made at the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. In this paper, the experience and practice of German Village Competition Plan were summarized to provide reference for the revitalization of rural areas in China.【Methods/Procedures】Using the literature research, the background and development history of German Village Competition Plan were introduced, and the experience and implications for the rural revitalization of China were summarized.【Results/Conclusions】The successful experiences of German Village Competition Program were summarized as follows:guiding the development goals with competition theme, guaranteeing operation with laws and regulations, motivating the participation of all parties through open competition system, ensuring fair competition with professional jury, and promoting rural development with rich contents. Based on the experience of German Village Competition Plan combined with the reality of rural construction in China, it was proposed to motivate rural revitalization by competition in our country by clarifying the objectives of rural revitalization strategy, paying attention to laws and regulations construction, encouraging the participation of all parties extensively, organizing and establishing professional jury, and driving the implementation of rural revitalization strategy by the competition contents.
