Abstract: Rock tea is the advantageous industry in northern areas of Fujian.The development of rock tea industry can effectively increase farmer's income and promote the rural economy in northern Fujian.However, since 1990 s, the development of rock tea in north Fujian has suffered the bottleneck period, and caused many problems, i.e., not high industrialization level, no significant benefits.In this paper, the geographic location of the rock tea economic circle in Minbei (the north part of Fujian) was defined, and the industrial foundation, advantages and features, as well as existing problems for the construction of the rock tea economic circle were analyzed.Then the development strategy, including combining tea with tourism, brand construction, and diversifying product, etc., were proposed by integrating the tea resources in north Fujian with Wuyi Mountain as the core.
