Abstract: The necessity and feasibility of Fujian’s agricultural universities to participate in the agricultural extension were explored from the perspective of social demand and their own abilities. Then, by taking the Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University as an example, the connotation of “characteristic industrial expansion” of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University was discussed. Finally, the countermeasures were put forward from four aspects of establishing the agricultural extension coordinating institutions of provincial agricultural colleges, expanding their extension authority, setting up a diversified investment and financing mechanism of agricultural extension, improving the new management mechanism for the agricultural extension workers of agricultural colleges, thus to improve the long-term mechanism of agricultural extension served by the agricultural colleges in Fujian.
