Abstract: Since the latter half of the 19th century, the tea industry in Taiwan has developed more than 100 years. There were three important transitions in this period, namely, the industrialization during the Japanese occupation period, export trade turning to domestic market, and diversified development. During the process, the tea industry in Taiwan has accumulated a wealth of successful experience, especially on the tea industry organization construction, policy guidance for meeting the needs of the market, giving attention and support to tea growers, public extension service and the development of creative tea industry. The experience will provide important enlightenments for the future development of tea industry in Chinese Mainland which is facing the transition.
