Abstract: In recent years, the coastal or inshore fishery resources in Pingtan comprehensive experimental zone have been decreasing and declining, and the fishing limitations in the open sea have made pelagic fishing decline, so transferring the fishermen’s jobs has become an urgent problem to be solved. The development of recreational fisheries could help to improve the living standards of fishermen and promote the sustainable development of fisheries and the construction of a new socialist fishing village. By combining with the actual situation of Pingtan comprehensive experimental zone and summarizing the development experiences of domestic and foreign recreational fisheries, a development path was proposed which was suitable for the recreational fisheries in Pingtan comprehensive experimental zone.
