Abstract: The important significance and role of developing tropical agriculture were described in this paper. And the basic viewpoints of expanding tropical agricultural field and its connotation were proposed. Then, some countermeasures for carrying out and implementing the green development strategy, optimizing tropical agriculture system, improving tropical agricultural entrepreneurship by technological innovation and realizing rural industrial transformation and upgrading were put forward, thus to provide theoretical and practical reference for promoting the development of regional modern agriculture in tropical areas.
