Abstract:
The small or micro food processing enterprises play an important role in promoting people’s livelihood development, meeting the demand of urban and rural food consumption, etc. The number of food processing enterprises below designated size accounts for 97% of the total number of food processing enterprises in Fujian, while the average number of employees in each enterprise is only 18, showing that most of Fujian’s food processing enterprises are small or micro enterprises. However, the small or micro food processing enterprises are generally facing the problems, such as backward technology, low awareness of food safety, and many difficulties in financing,using labor, starting businesses, making profits, etc. Therefore, the countermeasures are put forward by learning from Taiwan’s experience, such as increasing financial and taxation support, encouraging cooperation between differentsized enterprises, guiding the development of local and special processed foods, setting up the service platform for technical service and food quality and safety, and emphasizing on the heritage of food culture and product ideas, thus to support the development of small or micro food processing enterprises in Fujian.
